About Serious Joy
Serious Joy noun.
Joy that deepens as we grow in love
giving us
passion, resilience, and courage for the challenges we face,
calm in the storm,
bliss in the beauty that greets us at every turn,
power to heal the earth,
wisdom to resist the pull of greed,
delight in the wonders of who we are together,
amazement at the grace of our being here at all,
and thankfulness for the river of divine gifts that flow
so abundantly to all of us, in each new moment, no one left out.
This joy shines forth in the words of The Reverend Archbishop Desmond Tutu:
"We are made for goodness. We are made for love. We are made for friendliness. We are made for togetherness.
We are made to tell the world that there are no outsiders.
All are welcome: black, white, red, yellow, rich, poor, educated, not educated, male, female, gay, straight, all, all, all.
We all belong to this family, this human family, God's family."
